Act now to Save Our Pubs!

It’s been six months since the UK first went into lockdown and the unprecedented challenge for pubs and breweries began. Pubs across the country feel like they are a scapegoat for the pandemic, despite publicans and staff doing everything they can to make their premises COVID-secure. Restrictions such as the 10pm curfew, local lockdown measures and now complete closures in parts of the country are deeply damaging trade and turnover, and knocking consumer confidence. Yet the Government’s financial support isn’t anywhere near enough to save our pubs from extinction. All our locals, not just those that are told to temporarily close, desperately need a new financial support package to help them pay wages, meet fixed costs and help to see them through periods of reduced trade.  

Targeted restrictions like the curfew mean that pubs and breweries should also get targeted support from the Government.
